Quote of the "month"

October 2006

"I still cry everyday," she says softly. "I think about Mary all the time. We've been to all these places with her," she says looking around the venue in which we're sitting. "Now we have to establish new memories without her and it's really hard."

"This album is many things, but it is mainly us turning our backs to the non-life that might be death or to depression turning your back to that. Not blocking it out because sadness is there and there are things that have happened that can take a long time to heal. It's not denial but certainly looking forward."

"Once you're in this process there is no going back. And there is no point anyway." - Laetitia Sadier, on recording the album Margerine Eclipse following the death of fellow Stereolab member Mary Hansen, from Umbrella Music interview, 8 May 2004.

Odds and Ends
I never finished writing up Coventry. I did up to the show, but never wrote the "day after" bit. I'll get on that after I've finished my thesaurus. I'm currently knee-deep in thesaurus building. I'm building a thesaurus for my final Abstracing & Indexing project, which is going to be an index to my issues of Punk Planet. It's since struck me that an index to Tape Op would be a useful thing. That might be something to work on when I've finished the class, provided someone hasn't already done one.

Right now I'm working on the following projects: patching & remastering Phish's Townshend Park show from 7/14/91, building the thesaurus, starting final projects for both A&I and government documents (a web pathfinder on copyright), producing my friend Pat's album (haven't really started this), writing an album with Sean (nor this - but I've got some ideas) and I also have a genre/format indexing assignment that I haven't started yet due in two weeks. So, being the glutton for punishment that I am, I've decided that it would be a good idea to add a novel to my plate. I've just come across the National Novel Writing Month site. It looks like fun and I think I'm going to sign up.

Welcome to NineNinjas.com. We hope you will enjoy your stay. Right now we're moving some things around, but we'll have it all sorted out soon.
