Friends

I'm not sure if these people want it advertised that they associate with me. Or if I want to admit to knowing any of them. But what the hell?

Sprightly Spite!
This is Liz's blog. Lots of stuff about knitting and completely random crap.

Fun With Cheese!
My brother James' blog. Lots of, umm, stuff. OK, so I don't know what's on it because I haven't looked at it lately and Blogspot's down. Sue me, ok.

The Official Website of "Low Rider" Vinnie Ferrari
Vinnie Ferrari is a wrestler in one of those weird little independent wrestling federations. If you're in the northeast and you're into that sort of thing, you should go check him out. Well, actually, he used to be a wrestler, but now he's management. But I still know him. And you should still go to one of his events.

Guitar sites

Sites dedicated to building and repairing guitars, or information about guitars.

ProjectGuitar.com
Excellent reference site about all things guitar repair, building and restoration. Tutorials, reference sections, links to suppliers and more can be found here.

GuitarElectronics.com
This site contains a good number of standard and alternate electric guitar wiring diagrams.

GuitarNuts
Information on amplifier and electric guiatr wiring. Some interesting custom wiring modifications.

Music

A short list of places to check out good music on the interweb, and pages about some of my favorite bands that you may not have heard.

Time to Operate
The home of some of the best bands around now: The Nojons (rock!), Bad Cops (double rock!), We The People (triple rock!!) and more (rock than you can get beat over the head with). Check it!

Stop Whining Start Winning Records
Wyld Punx owned record label. Releases by three of the awesomest hardcore bands ever: How We Are, Black SS and We The People. Be like me and buy them all. Then go check out all the bands in the links section. Seriously. Do it. Now.

News and Media

The Guardian
The Guardian is my favorite British newspaper, and is one of my main sources for international news.

disinformation
This lot provides a roundup of alternative news stories from various alternative news sources.

In These Times
In These Times is an excellent alternative news magazine. Think of it as what Newsweek could be if it wasn't owned by big business, but never will be because it is.

Television and Cinema

I'm not much for television, for the most part I think it rots your brain, but there is the occasional worthwhile bit. As for the cinema, it is way cool, even if I don't get out to it as often as I'd like.

ALL HAIL BRAK!
is a page dedicated to, well, Brak, fool. And if you don't know who Brak is, then there's just no helping you, then, is there?

Computer Crud

Hey, no true geek is a geek unless he's into computers, right (unless he's into abacusus, those people are truly geeks). So, anyway...

The Font Diner
Offers way-cool retro fonts. Most are for sale, but there are a few freebies as well.

Larabie Fonts
Ray Larabie is ultra-cool. Why? Because not only has he made loads of great free fonts, but he also designed the cars in Grand Theft Auto: London 1969. And made a few cool GTA cars outside of that as well. Thanks to Ray, the standard for user-designed cars was upped several notches.

GNU's Not Unix! - the GNU project and the Free Software Foundation (FSF)
As a natural extension of my interest in the DIY music community, I also have a lot of respect for the free/open source software movement. This page is a good starter for background information, links and news regarding this movement. RMS is a bit of a fascist at times, but this group does have some valid ideas.

The Open Source Page-More information on the open source movement.

JustLinux
Formerly LinixNewbie.org. A good source of information on installing and using the GNU/Linux operating system including information on the different distributions (strengths, weaknesses, where to get them), help with installation problems, and getting that pesky made-for-Windows hardware to work.
